Admission Process at DPS Guwahati

Admission registration is completed online through the school’s prescribed form. Applicants need a valid email ID and mobile number and should keep the child’s and parents’ photographs, birth certificate, residence proof, previous class marksheet where applicable and caste certificate, if applicable, ready for upload.

For 2026-27, admission from PG I to Class V does not require an entrance test and is based on an interaction with the child. Applicants for Classes VI to IX must qualify an entrance test followed by an interaction. Admission remains provisional until the required Transfer Certificate and supporting documents are submitted. Class XI follows a separate admission and scholarship criteria notice.

The registration fee is estimated to be around ₹2,000 based on the school’s 2026-27 online admission instructions. Please confirm the final amount with the school office before making any payment.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility depends on the class, age, vacancies and the rules announced for the session. For 2026-27, the school lists Nursery at 3 years, PG I at 3+ years, PG II at 4+ years and Class I at 5+ years as on April 1, 2026. For Class II onwards, eligibility is based on the Transfer Certificate from the previous school.

Students applying to Classes VI to IX must clear the entrance test and interaction. Class XI has separate stream-wise criteria, so parents should use the latest Class XI notice instead of older cut-offs.

FAQs

Q1. Can parents pay the school fee in cash at the school office?

No. The 2026-27 fee rules require non-cash payment through the school’s online payment gateway. Regular school fees are not accepted at the school office.

Q2. What happens if a quarterly fee is paid after the due date?

A late fine applies after the due date. If fees remain unpaid for three months from the applicable payment date, the school rules state that the student may be debarred from attending classes.

Q3. How much notice is required before withdrawing a student from DPS Guwahati?

Parents must give three months’ advance notice before withdrawal or applying for a Transfer Certificate. Otherwise, three months’ fee is payable in lieu of notice, and the full fee for the quarter of withdrawal also remains payable.

Q4. Are hostel admissions available for every class?

For the 2026-27 admission cycle, the school specifically lists hostel admission for Classes IV to IX. Availability can change, so parents should confirm class-wise hostel vacancies before registration.
